Team rider Justin Riney of Riney Ranch, known from the Expedition Florida 500 circumnavigation in 2013, will begin a 5-month journey to commence on June 1st primarily by BOTE Board. He will embark on an exploration of Florida’s Everglades and Ten Thousand Islands naming the project the “Everglade Exile.” Riney will spend his journey in the southwestern corner of the Greater Everglades Ecosystem, exploring the area’s waterways from Marco Island to Florida Bay with the goal of learning the area inside and out to become a voice and advocate for its preservation.
The Ahab will be Justin Riney’s main jack of all trades board to haul all of his gear with a capacity up to 500 lbs. A 14’ ideal fishing platform with a racing pedigree, the Ahab is the ultimate combination of stability, speed and versatility. With a racing style hull for speed, a large flat deck, multiple tackle rac receivers, cooler and bungee tie downs and thru holes for staking out; this board will outfit Riney perfectly for the Everglade Exile.
A small sendoff will be taking place at Guanabanas in Jupiter on May 30th from 5:30-7:30PM. The public and media are invited to attend. Please come by and wish 'Bon Voyage' to Justin Riney as he will paddle casually with supporters, share stories about his travels and answer questions about the upcoming project.
