4. Low Profile Bow Shape
This high-performance SUP platform was designed with a unique combination of features that make it perfect for distance paddling, with or without gear. Don't take our word for it, check out this story to see how Josh Collins journeyed 3,500 miles on his Traveller.
A displacement hull has a pointed nose which allows the board to cut through the water efficiently. It’s a good choice for fitness, extended paddling, and fishing.
“The Traveller is the most stable and agile board in the BOTE lineup. With a narrower build and V-shaped hull, this board is built like a race board, yet still holds plenty of weight for outdoor excursions.”
– Pete Buzzelli, BOTE Darkroom Guru

Haven’t tried it yet but I know it’s gonna be the ****!!!
I’m already a fan of BOTE boards and purchased a 12’ HD Gatorshell previously and after spending many years on various SUP surfing boards I was intrigued by a BOTE advertisement I came across in a SUP journal and thus I ordered my HD and have spent many hours and logged miles upon miles on the local rivers, lakes and coastal estuaries of Oregon and Vancouver Island BC. I love my HD and wanted to branch out and experience the faster streamlined design of a touring board and chose the BOTE 12’6” Traveller after reading numerous positive reviews on the BOTE website. I received my new Traveller on Tuesday October 20 and took it out for a maiden test workout the very next day of October 21st on the Willamette River and despite strong winds and wind waves and drenching squalls I was amazed at how beautifully the Traveller handled under these conditions! I’m so very impressed and pleased with adding the Traveller to my now two BOTE board quiver!
Awesome board. Can handle waves quite well.
If you are a good kayaker this thing flies with a wing paddle. I sometimes warm up kayaking and then switch paddles. Moderately tippier than my Flood, but it’s more an initial sensation - becomes less scary when you roll past 10 degrees or so. The lighter weight is appreciated for walking to the beach, as is the narrower profile for walking down my boat ramp. We only have the Flood as a comparison and we both like the Traveller better. It DOES require more concentration which makes it more interesting. Note we have the luxury of avoiding wind and waves, picking our moment by looking out the window. Bottom line: great workout board for flat water.
I have been blown away with the Traveller’s stability, speed and beauty! I have thoroughly enjoyed it!
