BOTE was founded in Destin, FL by husband and wife team Corey and Magda Cooper, with the purpose of reshaping the standup paddle board industry from what was largely identified as surfing offshoot to a distinct culture built on conceptually simple, aesthetically pleasing and functionally innovative products that would appeal to people from all walks of life. Do you enjoy juggling chainsaws on a unicycle while crossing a tightrope suspended over a tank filled with sharks? Excellent. Because we’re looking for people who can keep their cool under pressure, multitask, and have fun doing it.

More specifically, BOTE is looking for a Social Media Manager with the unique combination of an infectious and bold personality, an analytical mind, and a water-loving spirit. You will be responsible for representing BOTE authentically across all social media channels, to our Ambassador and Influencer network, and in-person at brand events. The ideal candidate will already be a member of the paddle boarding community and is well-versed in the intricacies of building and managing a wide range of social channels while working side-by-side with Creative, Marketing, Customer Service, Retail, and eCommerce teams.


  • Own BOTE’s presence across all social touchpoints, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, and more.
  • Propose and implement strategic social media processes to support channel growth and healthy engagement
  • Understand intricacies and best practices involved with managing a variety of social channels
  • Build and manage social calendars in accordance with overall Marketing content and promotional calendar
  • Collaborate with Creative Team in selection and curation of images to ensure on-brand representation
  • Build and nurture a community of paddlers, kayakers, and water-lovers alike while representing BOTE’s knowledgeable, personable, and approachable voice
  • Adopt and speak BOTE’s Brand Voice across all channels to ensure consistent tone
  • Possess impeccable attention to detail in terms of spelling and grammar and have excellent writing chops
  • Be thoroughly experienced with social media management and reporting tools
  • Practice continuous learning regarding algorithms, best practices, and trends across all social media outlets to provide useful insight to the Marketing team as to how best to leverage these outlets
  • Think creatively and analytically to convey BOTE’s adventurous spirit while also delivering against measurable KPI’s and providing reports to BOTE’s Leadership Team
  • Attend a variety of local BOTE events to execute live and on-site social media coverage
  • Oversee, grow, and cultivate a strong Brand Ambassador program, including Influencer support
  • Communicate with the Customer Service Team to ensure all customer inquiries are answered quickly and factually
  • Ensure all social media profiles have updated/current branding to best represent BOTE and our current product/content spotlights
  • Plan and assist in the production of live streams
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Associate’s Degree or Equivalent Professional Experience
  • 4+ years of experience specifically regarding social media management
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Excellent time management abilities with a proven ability to multi-task and manage several deadlines at once
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment
  • Comfortable delivering and measuring against data-driven KPIs
  • Passion for paddle boarding/water sports a must
  • Some travel required
