The rocket rac completes the kayak, it’s keeps the rods off the deck and out of the way.
Still January in Colorado so just waiting on the clock. I already know that because it came from Bote, its going to be great! Thanks to the entire Bote Team.
I love the rack. It holds all my rods and I am impressed with how rigid it is. My one critique would be that it crowds the seat. With the rack installed I cannot have the seat far enough back to be comfortable.
I purchased this item with the Lono and loved it at first. Then I got hit by big wave and got flipped over. Well you guessed it during the roll over, I lost the Rocket Rack and my rods. Yes I had the strap over the rocket rack. I titled the review poor design as there should be a fastener to keep the rocket rack attached to the inserts. You would have thought that the strap which was cinched down over the rack would have kept it in place, but it didn't. Now $200 down the drain not including the rods. I wasn't able to retrieve mine as I was in 25 foot murky waters. My recommendation would be to add a fastener like a Safety pin, 2 wire snap to the base of the rack that inserts. They only cost $1.29 each online with a quick google search. Two would have done the trick. I would have saved myself $200 (Rocket Rack) and $700 (rods and reels). I was so excited to use the Lono I didn't think something like this would happen. I'm writing this review to say use with caution, and figure a way to secure your rods and rack. PS: I see in the picture description above they don't illustrate the the strap over the rack. The Lono is still awesome fishing/all around kayak and I'm so happy that I purchased it! Just bummed out about losing the rack.
